Why Join?

There are so many reasons why a family should look to the option of subscribing to EMW. I thought it pertinent to mention the ones that we consider most important to our family:

The first one I would like to raise is the one that supports our introduction to why we started the program in the first place. When we are away, be it during the school term or just during the holidays, we always want our children to have the option of going to a site that provides information that is related to what they face at school.

A child's approach to learning is established between the ages of 8 to 10.

The material is supplied by qualified teachers, and as a result it will be what is presented to them at school and will also be related to the curriculum that the schools will be following.

We have also added a games, puzzles and general knowledge section to the site to make sure it does not just feel like another classroom. The puzzles and games have an education spin, and we believe the kids will do them for the fun of it, while learning at the same time.

The material is updated with new worksheets every month so that they do not have to continually do the same exercises and loose interest in the site. All exercises have the appropriate answers attached. This allows to two things to be achieved. Firstly, the methods that we as parents were taught are very different to the methods used by current practicing teachers. This gives parents the opportunity to use the same methods as what is being taught in the classrooms of today. Secondly, it allows the children to follow the step by step process to getting to the final answers. It will be done at their own pace, and should they still struggle, they can take both question and answer to the teacher at school to assist them.  There is still a very sad view by some parents that it is the job of the teacher alone to ensure that their children are properly educated.

If you look at the current average class sizes in schools today, it is very apparent that the teachers will do their best to give all the children the best possible prospect of moving to the next year. The truth of the matter is that teachers are left with little choice but to teachers will teach to the “middle” of the class so as to attempt to get to as many of the kids as they can. The modern day reports for the schools comment on where our children are excelling, and also the areas where additional work needs to be done. Nowhere does it advise where we can go to get the desired material to ensure we can give the child the much need help we have been advised to supply.

Many parents would not hesitate to spend $5 to $10 a month on takeaways and other trivial things, but would you spend an additional dollar on furthering their education?

I think it is very important in today’s world, being a competitive place for all forms of work, that children are given every possible “foot up” that they can so that they can realize their DREAMS, and in so doing, realizing ours.
