What is EMW?EMW is a website that provides online resources for parents and children, based on the Australian curriculum. The site is broken down per grade and then per Subject and sub-category to ensure that children are provided with accurate information for their age group and the curriculum. EMW has not been created to replace schooling but to supplement areas that may need improvement or to stimulate your child further. The material also assists parents in gaining a deeper understanding in what your child will cover in their years learning. The site also includes a large section of General Knowledge which has games and puzzles, arts and crafts, animals, geography, astronomy, plants and numerous other topics to assist your child in their school projects, general interest or to just keep your child entertained during the holidays or on those rainy days.
What subjects are covered in the Curriculum?
Although we would love to cover as many subjects as possible, our initial focus in on English, Maths and Inquiry; which is all curriculum and grade based. Additional information under General Knowledge is vast and varied. This area too, is constantly expanding with new information and topics. As the site develops and grows, so too will our topics that are covered.
How does it work?
To access all the worksheets and information you will need to subscribe to the site. You can choose to subscribe monthly or annually for as little as $5.00AUD per month or $55.00AUD annually. Subscription is per Grade.
How much do I have to pay?
You can choose to subscribe monthly or annually for as little as $5.00AUD per month or $55.00AUD annually. This can be done via PayPal or with your Credit Card through a secure payment site.
How long do I have to subscriber for?
You can choose to subscribe monthly or annually. Your monthly subscription can be cancelled at any time and will expire on the day prior to your subscription date.
How does this benefit me and my child?
Worksheets are created by a qualified teacher to specifically target your child’s ages/grade and are streamlined with the curriculum. This ensures that you are not introducing information to your child that they are not ready for. In later years (for example, when maths starts to be introduced) there will be ‘answer’ pages to accommodate the worksheets. These are more for the parents benefit as it shows the working method to ensure that your child does not get confused with parents showing then the ‘incorrect’ method of working from our past schooling days! (as parents we found that we did this a couple of times, much to our daughters frustration!)
Who creates all the material for the different Grades?
Degree qualified Australian experienced teachers are employed per allocated Grades or topics to create worksheets on a monthly basis. Profiles of the EMW Team can be viewed under the ‘About Us’ page - just follow the Teachers Profiles red button.
Why do I only see a few rows of worksheets on a page early in the year?
Worksheets are uploaded at the end of every month and are strategically thought out by the teachers as to what is appropriate at what times. Not having the entire years work up all at once ensures that children aren’t being exposed to work that they are not yet ready for. Exposing children to methods or topics before they are ready for them may lead to confusion and lack of confidence going forward. Each Grade will have a minimum of 72 new worksheets added at the end of every month; and more than 80 new worksheets under General Knowledge and Games and Puzzles. The General areas of the site will have all material displayed at all times. There are currently over 1’000 worksheets in this area alone to keep you busy!
What grades are covered?
Currently we have launched Kinder, Prep, Grade 1 and 2. We are hoping to launch the remaining primary Grades before the end of the year. Can I subscribe to General Knowledge and Games and Puzzles only?
Unfortunately General Knowledge and Games and Puzzles is ‘bonus’ information provided to subscribers. You may then wish to subscribe to any Grade of your choice for only $5.00AUD per month and enjoy the General Knowledge and Games and Puzzles on their own.
Can I subscribe to more than one Grade?
You certainly can. There is no limit to the amount of Grades you would like to subscribe to. Information between Grades is different so you won’t need to worry about duplication of information.
Can I use this information in home-schooling?
The worksheets and information provided are to supplement any school work, be it in the classroom or home-based. EMW is only a resource for additional school based information and is NOT to be used as a replacement for professional schooling of your child
How often will web pages be updated?
